What We Do

At Learning Tree, we partner with families to serve students on the Autism spectrum, and/or with academic, social-emotional, and behavioral challenges. All of our services reflect Learning Tree’s whole-child approach, which measures success not only by quantified data, but also by student achievement, self-confidence, and eagerness to learn.

High-Dosage Tutoring

High-Dosage Tutoring (HDT) is a flexible, research-based approach to instruction that is individualized to student needs. HDT takes place daily in one-on-one or in very small groups to help students advance at their pace. Unlike remedial work, which focuses only on building prerequisite skills, HDT also integrates new learning that helps the student progress at their grade level.

Counseling

Addressing a child’s emotional needs is an integral part of our education plans. These sessions allow the student and family members to discuss their challenges, explore family dynamics that will benefit the child, and develop strategies to improve the child’s emotional health.

ABA Therapy

ABA is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on learning and behavior, and improves communication, academics, motor abilities, social skills, play skills, and other skills. Due to the unique nature of each child, there are a number of approaches within ABA. Our team includes some of the top ABA therapists in the field who specialize in diagnosing and implementing the educational and treatment plan that is tailored to the needs of each student.

Paraprofessionals (ABA)

When an IEP requires an extra support professional, we offer staffing of highly skilled, trained paraprofessionals to assist in the classroom and other settings.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists specialize in helping students develop motor skills, strength, posture, and balance, which are all vital to everyday functioning as well as academic success - both in and out of the classroom.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists work with students to build sensory processing skills (understanding, registering and responding to sensory information), fine motor skills (required for writing), attention (by improving sitting tolerance), and social behavior (interacting with peers).

Speech-Language Therapy

Our speech therapists focus on developing receptive language (how much a child understands), expressive language (how much a child can say), articulation (how sounds are pronounced), and social communication/play (interaction and engagement).

Social-Emotional Learning

Successful interpersonal relations is a necessary skill that serves the child both in the classroom and beyond. Our social-emotional learning (SEL) programs offer students tools to cope with feelings, set goals, make decisions, get along with others and practice empathy.

Professional Development

Learning Tree offers professional development for educators to improve instructional methods and create continuity in the student’s educational program. Our goal is always to improve consistency and effectiveness in our whole-student approach.

Parental Support

Consultations are available to parents who need support and guidance in best practices for their child. We also provide counseling services for additional needs.

Music Therapy

Music-based interventions are shown to improve attention, auditory processing, behavior, and language cognitive functioning. These sessions also lower self-stimulation and agitation and increase socialization and enhance sensory-motor skills. Best of all: they’re fun!
